Thu 8/21 | Warm up (matching sheet); Went over the abs. value questions off the test; Questions on the hmwk (will finish it up tonight); Talked about how to graph an equation in standards form and point slope form; Warm up (UNL Costs)…set the stage for…..Talking about writing the equation of a line from a table, from a graph, given a point and slope, and given two points. Fri 8/22 | Warm up (finished the matching sheet); Cleaned up the “stuff” from this week…graphing horiz/vert lines…looking at perpendicular and parallel lines…revisiting writing the equation (in all 3 forms) from 2 points….Turned in Wed’s hmwk….tests back…time to work on the homework packet handed out yesterday! Mon 8/25 | Warm-up (graph y = abs x with a table….used the table to generate the V shape); Talked about the basics of Calc 101…and how to graph an absolute value function; Used the calculator to discover the “a,” “h,” and “k” transformations. Looked at a couple specific examples of listing the transformations / graphing; Answered a couple of questions off the homework packet Assignment: finish up the packet; Do the worksheet on 2.5/2.6; Worked out solutions for tonight’s 2.5/2.6 hwmk: click HERE…. Tue 8/26 | Warm-up (talked about “how” to graph an abs value equation); ACT/DCA clicker problem (#23); Board work with graphing abs. value equations and linear equations; Reviewed the boundary point method for solving/graphing an abs. value inequalities (only in the variable of “x”)…THEN used the boundardy point method to graph linear inequalities and abs. value inequalities (in the variables of “x” and “y”) Read 2.7 do pg 104 #1, 5, 15, 42, 48 and work on the review sheet (click here for the worked out ipad video for the review) Test is tomorrow! Looked at multiplying polynomials. Looked the relationship between the factored form of a polynomial function and its zeros. Used factored form, zeros, and end behav to sketch graphs (need to bring in y-int). Hmwk: Finish 309 (classification, add/subtr, mult); Finish End behav worksheet; Start doing worksheet (sketching polynomials); Use pg 315 out of the book and your calculator to explore multiplicity!!!
